Bought a new Scott Addict RC 30 with SRAM Rival AXS from a shop recently but have since moved far from there. While waxing my chain today I noticed one of the plates was upside down from the factory? Am I fine to keep riding this chain or could it possibly harm my drive train? Contacted SRAM but I’m trying to get a ride in more than likely before they contact me back.

SRAM quality control….
I’d say this is a shop issue and that they should replace it for you. I would call them and see if you can get them to send you a new chain or compensate you for one that you buy. They aren’t expensive, maybe $30. In the meantime, I would drive to your closest shop and put on a new quick link to replace that specific link. It’s not ideal, but running a flat top as a flat bottom sounds like a horrible idea. I imagine you’ll get chain skipping and excess wear. A quick link runs about $15 and that will last the life of the chain.
You could also see if a shop will install the new chain for you if you buy it through them and then request your shop to refund you the money of that install. Either way, you need to replace that link.
Haha, whoopsies.
Good eye, most people wouldn’t even noticed unless it was making a weird noise or causing shifting issues.
Classic Sram, seen goofy stuff like this for years, it’s kind of a good laugh though.
Surprised it does not skip in the smaller tooth count gears.
Flat top chain billie eilish! Isnt that how the song goes?
