I have a GRX812 RD on my bike. The adjustment assembly is broken (this part: Shimano Ultegra R8000 adjuster). Honestly, I find the design with the two plastic components grabbing a tiny notch in the metal bolt very flawed. Over time, the plastic gets loose and cannot grab that tiny notch anymore.

I'm wondering if instead of replacing it for the same part, I can instead use the RD-9100 part (Shimano RD-R9100 Adjuster). This part has the better traditional design where the plastic sleeve grabs 4 larger metal ridges on the adjustment bolt.

Happy to hear if anyone has any experiences with this!

As far as I’m aware, all Shimano RD barell adjusters are interchangeable.
