    Hi young people. Sit down and I’ll tell you a story. Back in the dim and distant past some bicycle wheels were normal aluminum rims laced to normal hubs with normal spokes. But they were very special wheels, different from others because they had a very light, very flimsy fairing made of carbon fiber that sat on top of the aluminum rim and gave it a more aero profile. These fairings were absolutely not structural in any way and if you had a crack in one it didn’t matter at all, because they weren’t integral parts of the wheel, just basically decorative trim with limited functionality. That’s what you’re looking at here. The end.

    It’s pretty difficult to do it any other way when the fairing flexes when you breathe on it.

    Do they still make HED vinyl wheel covers with the aluminum support band?
