Finally pulled the trigger on my very first „road“ bike: a Canyon Grizl 7 AL. Wanted an aluminum frame, that could also be used for bike packing a few times a year. Will be using the stock gravel tires for these adventures.
Swapped the stock wheels for a HUNT 50 Carbon Disc wheelset and mounted Continental Grand Prix 5000 S TR (32 mm) tires.
I would’ve happily spent a bit more for a higher-end drivetrain, but the market didn’t offer much in this segment with an aluminum frame.
So this beauty equipped with some carbon wheels seemed like a good compromise for a beginner. 🙂
Happy NBD!

Looks gorgeous
It’s a real beauty
Looks awesome! How does it ride compared to the stock tires and how are the wheels? I have the Grizl since 1 1/2 years and love it. Still thinking about getting new wheels and road tires to switch
I just ordered a Grizl 7 (arriving Saturday!) I plan to eventually do the same, and get a second set of wheels for road. Did you order a second set or cassette and rotors too? Would love a breakdown of exactly what you purchased (so I can steal it for myself.)
Nice! Are you happy with the Hunt wheelset?
Can I ask for the price of the pair?
Congrats on the bike! Also, what a beautiful place to ride in, that place looks stunning
What color did you go with? And is this the raw version? It doesn’t look like the two colors currently listed on the site? This looks almost white? Affogato?
I dont like the white, but the black parts look hella smooth, especially the wheels look like from a blacked-out tron bike. I imagine this with a darker frame, but i get that the black/white contrast can look appealing. Cool bike! I got myself the cheaper grand canyon AL6 in Raku color. Greetz to ösis from germany <3
I plan to do the same exact thing with my grizl 7 that I just recently got. I am torn between a full road 32mm tire or a 38mm touring-like tire with a little bit of grip on the sides in case I feel like taking it on a quick gravel section. If I went bigger I was thinking like a specialized pathfinder pro tire… once I somehow figure out what to do here I will have a second wheelset. :/
