Full disclosure: I work at a shop that recently dropped specialized and have been running their tires for years because of the discount.

Anyways, so I got a gravel bike mainly for fun. Started riding trail and then branched out to bike packing. Did 600 miles in Norway last October and am still riding the same tires.
Seriously these pathfinders have over 1300 miles on them and they still look fresh.

Going forward would anyone be able to give feedback on similar tires from other companies? I've installed several sets of terravail Washburns for my customers but haven't tested long term. I'm in the market for a tire that can handle like 50% road 45% gravel and 5% pure nonsense.

Also while I'm here, thanks a ton for the recs on a set up last year for my trip. Trip was a blast and it's rad as hell I was able to connect with riders in Norway through this place. I cannot express just how awesome everyone here is.

I personally find that you can’t push that hard on those tires grip wise. Tufo thundero in 48 is great.

I run these on my Turbo Creo. That bike has 4200mi on it. Mostly pavement and hard pack dirt. I expect another 1-2000mi out of the rear, and maybe 10k total distance for the front if I wouldn’t swap it to the rear. I unfortunately don’t want to run these tires but I’m in too deep now! Since I do mostly road riding, I want something faster (GP5000 tl). And that’s my only complaint with these tires is that I feel they roll too slow.

Id suggest you check out Vitorias offerings. I was pleasantly surprised by their lineup. While some of their marketing seems like a buncha hoopla, it’s rather impressive once you start pushing their limits.

  3. Heavy, hard to mount.. bombproof and roll great! I ran em tubeless just fine also

I wish they came in more sizes, I also work at a Spacialized dealer, and hand put Pathfinders on my wife’s bike, but I’ve been running Gravel King for years, actually just got some of the new SS R version in 45mm, and really liking them so far!
