[Music] The sun was out at the start of stage 18 of the Jirro dital italia. Beginning in Morbeno for the first time in 14 years. A home day for David Pigani. Smiles upon the faces of riders who knew that this grand tour was close to the end. Richard Kapas celebrating his birthday. Lorenzo Fortunato celebrating almost having been the king of the mountain of the Girro. There’s a bit to do to confirm that, but on this day it was either one for the sprinters or the breakaway. An easy start. Well, should have been on the flat land, a bit of hill in the middle and a flat finish with two laps of a circuit around the town of Chzano Maderno. The first time ever that the Jerro Vitali would visit for a stage finish. Not too long a distance either. Just under 150 kilometers for stage 18. As soon as the flag was waved, the action was on. Most riders in the Pelaton knew that this was their last realistic chance to get something out of it. And when certain teams who you would imagine normally would want to sprint started attacking, the break you imagine was going to get a good chance. But what would the break look like? Mars Person was attacking trying to cement the Malia Clamino. An early move with Felix Engel was joined by other riders and at the back Juanay Yusu was struggling having been stung by a bee the day before. 20 odd riders got away, but more were coming to join. Katano was in the break. Most teams represented along the shores of Lake Ko before they started to climb. 40 seconds and it was a big gap to cross. A couple of riders tried to get there. Not all of them would make it. The pace was on at the start of the first climb. UA Emirates were setting a pace to try and deter more attacks. However, out the back and soon getting into the car was their designated leader at the start of the race. Huay. Knee injury last week. Bad form, not feeling right, and that beasting really, really making a mess. His right eye was almost closed. It was an effort to start but he would not be able to finish. So they were down to six riders to control for the maladza. Mostly that was a decent job well done. The break around 40 riders getting a gap of almost 2 minutes with 100ks to go. Pearson of course was in it and yet again he was going for intermediate sprints against the deont. Deont leading the intermediate sprint classification. Pearson well in charge in the points jersey. No surprise to see Xia Sastanaz Scadoni taking points in the King of the Mountains. He’s second to his teammate in that competition. But with the gap at 5 minutes and growing, this was definitely one for the breakaway. More intermediate sprint points to Bison that before the games proper began. Certain teams continue to try and control with seven minutes of a gap growing towards eight. 66ks to go. More mountain points for Scaroni. Then the red ball kilometer is where it all kicked off properly. Tarot taking the points and the lead in that classification going away with his teammate Mareluzi and Rei Rosha. They managed to get just over half a minute of a gap. The gap to the pelatin was over 10 minutes. Paroti continuing as Mareluzi and Rosha were brought back. 40 km to go and they were still playing about at the front. Teams such as Dick Kerning had as many as four riders there. The gap was so big behind that the organization was worried about the Pelaton being lapped. So invited to the race Q36.5 rode and at the front the attacks continued. A group of 11 riders went away. Just over 30ks to go and in the click of a finger almost it was done. Groves in the group that didn’t matter. Same with Wat Fernart. It would be other riders up the road who would go for this stage. Two full laps of a finishing circuit. A gap of 124 to the rest of the chasers. And with 17 kilometers to go, more attacks coming. Nicodens trying and he get a very good gap. He’d gone on a couple of tight turns accelerating as he saw a small gap. Planker initially tried to chase and behind with 10 km to go and one lap. That was that. Or at least they thought there was time for another couple of attacks to try and get across. But the gap at over half a minute was difficult. Ad who was a previous two-time winner of geo stages was riding away. Red Bull Bora Hansro had dealt with the news that Primarich had to go home two days before this. Pale Zari was saving their GC moving up from 18th to 9th and to seventh. More to come there maybe. But a stage win to come as Niko Dent crossed the line. Three zero stages in his career. This one saving it for his team. Delight for Red Bull Borro Hanser. A superb solo win from the 31y old German mid kum three won the sprint for second behind and the rest of the bunch were also sprinting for places. Plumbers getting there quicker than the rest. In the pelatin it was wait until the mountains del Toro leading the Jeralia. Two mountain stages to defend. This one was for the breakaway boys and it was won by [Music] Nicodense. A solid win for the German who’s making a specialtity out of winning judo stages. A lovely moment on the podium. He won again in the land of his grandfather’s birth. [Music] The general classification unchanged at the top. There’s less than a minute still between the top three riders. That’s all to play out in the next two days in the mountains. So, a 10th day in the Malad Roa for Isak del Toro. The big question is, can he hang on? Looking better 24 hours before this. The next test is a different one. Longer, higher mountains and they come back to back. Starting in Ba and going all the way to Champoluk in the Valdosta. Three first cater climbs, a second cat and a third cat. A mighty mountain stage awaiting that takes place in the far northwest of Italy. It’s just over 160 kilometers, stage 19. HISTORY IS MADE TODAY 🎉🎉🎉
Only two riders have worn the MAGLIA ROSA for ten days, under the age of 22:
1940 = Fausto Coppi
2025 = Isaac Del Toro
❤🇮🇹❤🇮🇹🚴♀️🇮🇹❤🇮🇹❤
TOMORROW Isaac can break the 85 year old record.
Ayuso not willing to cooperate under for ther young talented toro i fill sad for him
So the peloton really didn't even try 😭
What happens if the main peloton gets lapped?
Ayuso est vraiment décevant ce jeune.
Il a pourtant un immense talent !
TNTのジャージを着てライドしています。ホワイトトロンバイクをピンクにしているんですが、ジャージとの組み合わせが最高だと褒めてもらいました。TNTのジャージは最高です。ありがとうございます❤
"Bad form"? What?
Wait…Ayuso struggling because he was stung by a bee the previous day?
Let's go UAE 💪 💪 💪
Truce in Lombardy
On the eighteenth stage, the Giro drew a deep breath among the green folds of Lombardy. The peloton, exhausted and ceremonious, seemed to have signed a tacit truce beneath the gray skies of late May. Nico Denz, opportunistic and cunning, carved through the final kilometers alone like a phantom in the mist of tactical indifference.
The wearers of the maglia rossa remained impassive, keeping their weapons sheathed, aware that the real war will be fought on the walls that still await. Today was a pause, a restrained waltz before the next explosion. Tomorrow, the mountains will pass judgment.
Bravo Nico!
Those ugly flags are polluting the race and making it unbearable to watch the finish. I can only wish bad things for the PATHETIC LOSERS that are ruining this amazing race!
Plenty of new boxer shorts for Isaac's boys back in Mexico!
I was able to watch them crossing the bridge on the lake in my hometown Lecco today, very cool. Sadly it wasn't in your highlights, that's a very beautiful landscape.
good job Italian jero
That pinch point at 0:29 was dangerous. They could have crashed before even starting! 😉
Really sad that ayuso had to drop out, sorry for him such a strong rider.
🎉😢😢🎉🎉🎉😮😢🎉🎉🎉😮🎉🎉🎉😮🎉🎉🎉😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😢🎉😮😮
5:21 = Nico (probably) heard or saw someone, looked back to his right, and waved intently? I'd love to know who he found there.
❤🎉❤

Not even trying to hate that's the most attractive Italian woman yall could find to hold the trophy?
With a break that large and that much time gap, you need to tell us who is best placed on GC. Just for info. Come on TNT, do a bit better.
