    that red stripe is your puncture safety layer, and its not intended to be visible. your tire will have bad grip and is dangerous to ride, especially in wet conditions.

    please replace it immediatly

    I’m pretty sure it’s the tire’s way of saying “please let me die now”. You should really replace that poor thing.

  3. That’s the puncture protection liner, your tire is way way way beyond any twi warnings or similar. Replace asap.

    I think they still make them, but the last time I saw a Mitas bicycle tyre was like 10 years ago. This is also the first time I’ve ever seen someone actually wear into the tyre casing like this.

    Regular reminder that bikes require (and in my opinion, deserve) to be maintained and treated well.

    It won’t cost the earth to get a brand new set of tyres and it’s something new that you can nerd out on.

  7. The red strip is a flat protection strip that’s located below the rubber casing of the tire.
