Hey,

In the last couple of years I rode here and there on my triban rc 120 but want to take biking more serious and step up my game. I am quit young and fit so getting a racing bike is the obvious choice.

Since I am not really into component I want to ask you if it makes sense to spend the extra money to get the Aeroad CF SLX 7 Di C46 over the new Ultimate CF Di2 AERO or even the Ultimate CF DI 2.
I already drove the Ultimate and aeroad liked them both.

Even though all bikes are in the budget I want to understand what component updates are worth upgrading to (value for money) and what bike is best from a value for money perspective.

I just read that the Shimano wheels are a downgrade in comparison to the previous version which had DT Swiss wheels.

Woth mentioning I live in a relative flat area in germany and what to do triathlon eventually.

When it comes to wheels, it really depends what size tyres you will run and how much do you follow/care about latest wheel trends/dogmas.

I run 32mm tyres so I would never run a wheel narrower than 32mm lets say. You can get quality cheap wheels from china in all shapes and sizes. So for me, I prefer if the bike comes with cheap alu wheels that I would replace, rather than carbon ones I do not like.

For electronic shifting 105 and Ultegra have the same quality, Ultegra is just lighter.
