Hey all! Approaching the final leg of a Pittsburgh to Central Vermont trip along bickpacking.com’s Eastern Divide Trail! It’s been incredible and I’d highly recommend it, however I’m not certain I wanna sign myself up for climbing along the spine of the Greens and then across the Lincoln Gap 😅. Anyone have experience biking from roughly Poultney, VT (south west of the state, not too far from Glenn’s falls NY) to Montpelier? Do you have a route to recommmend? Attached some pics including the bikepacking.com route and Google suggestions.

To get to from the Champlain valley Montpelier you have to cross the Greens. However, following river valleys will be you best bet.
Look at rail trails (lamoile comes to mind) and the cross Vermont trail as potential options.
I rode a modified version of the Green Mountain Gravel Growler which will have a lot of overlap with your “9 hr 47 min’ route from the screen shot. It’s definitely not direct, but it was pretty amazing and I can’t wait to go back.
