Tonight I changed my chainring from a 30t round to 32t oval and replaced the chain at the same time.
Followed guidance for sizing chain length and this is how it looks.
Big sprocket the derailleur is not maxed, small sprocket there is still quite a bit of tension in the derailleur. Hardtail bike (Giant Fathom).
Does it look ok to anyone with a trained eye? Turning cranks doesn’t make the derailleur move more than a quiver with the oval effect.
Tempted to add two links but not sure if that would push it too far the other way and be too long and slack.

That’s a bit short
That’s a link short. You could get away with it but if you have the link and extra pin or quick link then add it back in.
