I sometimes prefer to carry the Brompton like this instead of rolling it. For example, in places with uneven surfaces, lots of stairs or lots of busy people who might trip over it, or if I just want to have both hands free while walking around such as inside a moving bus or train or in a store or supermarket without a cart. Plus, it just looks cool i think ๐
I am able to carry the bike like this for about 45-60 minutes before it starts to get uncomfortable thanks to the high quality backpack waistbelt. Perfect for most trips on foot or shopping.
The shoulder strap fits neatly inside the Vincita frame bag and is always attached to the frame via a handle that sticks up into the frame bag through a hole cut in the bottom. So just fold the bike and then pull the strap out of the frame bag and go.
The waistbelt came with the backpack and the bike can attach to the waistbelt using a small buckle strap for extra stability and better weight distribution.
The bike is a Brompton C line converted to electric using the saw20 motor "superharness" kit from Grintech, that is why it is so heavy. (Battery is in the backpack).
I am curious to know if anyone else have tried something like this?

Wow. That is impressive. Good for you. If it makes things easier for you I think itโs great.
Any risk of friction or damage to your clothes
I can see how it would be super valuable for those stairs.
