So I was riding today and this happened. I REALLY DONT want to have to bring my bike to the shop, (I just got it back from the shop after A MONTH). Please let me know if there’s a temporary fix for this or if I should take it back to get fixed.

It seems to me like it’s only the plastic cover that’s been affected, not the chainring itself. If it’s only a small dent in the plastic, ride on !
No need to fix this, that plastic guard is primarily to prevent your pants from getting caught in the chain rings, a little damage to it shouldn’t effect that
I’m assuming this is just a plastic cover. Many bikes don’t even have it. Its cosmetic
Sometimes when the plastic cover cracks they warp and rub a part of the derailleur but if yours isn’t, then there is no issue at all. If it is you could remove the cover entirely. It’s not going to cause any changes in performance or durability
Guaranteed you’ll come back with a lot less $$$ in your pocket and a new crank, if you do take it in.
As some other people on this thread have suggested, it is only a cosmetic plastic cover; so if you can remove it and promise yourself you won’t wear long pants when riding the bike, you can make the bike lighter and keep the money in your wallet.
Keep riding. If it becomes a problem just remove the plastic guard & throw it away (diy).
You don’t need that part, so do not fret!
You will need to replace the bash guard with a little reflective velcro strap for your pant leg. Leave it on all day at work if you’d like.
That piece isn’t necessary, and the only way to fix it would be to get an entire crankset. I would not worry about it and keep riding
