Hey team, I’m looking for a versatile gravel bike that can be used for bike packing. My budget is between $1000 to $1500 cad. I know very little about bikes in general, so any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Some people have beef with the trp hy/rd brake calipers and honestly I will probably swap mine out for full hydros in the future but they work just fine
I have a 2018 ST that came stock with 700c. It can’t fit anything bigger than 42mm from my understanding. The clearance may have been increased in the newer models, but I’d look into that if you’re planning on riding through anything gnarly. Otherwise, it’s a sweet bike, albeit a little heavy. Lots of attachment points for bikepacking. I use mine as a commuter/gravel bike with 38mm washburns. Steel frames last forever.

Is this an aluminum gravel bike? If so, lots of deals around that price for a new one. I’m seeing lots of carbon with decent 1x drivetrains for 1700-2000 US. 1400CAD seems high.
