Hello guys…
I'm planning to get a new bike mainly for road riding and commuting. Usually while riding I have to deal with casual sidewalk jumps, so I want a bike that can handle that—that’s why I’m leaning toward an cross/urban type of Mtb.
I wanted to ask for advice on brakes: which is better for this kind of riding… hydraulic or mechanical?
So far I’ve only used mechanical and rim V-brakes, so I have no experience with how hydraulic brakes feel, perform, or how to maintain them.
Here are some options I’m considering:
Thank you in advance.

In Italy?!?! Unless you’re filthy rich and have your own armed escort, secure storage room behind armed guards, get the cheapest stolen bike you can buy as it will be stolen again in short order. Globalist Socialism and its slave trade is the gift that keeps on giving!
I would avoid anything with disc brakes or more than 7 speeds as it screams “cocaine and a quickie” instead of just “a hit of meth” to every bike thief!
