It’s a trek USA 400 I believe
It’s two different bikes. The first picture looks like a steel frame and the second aluminum.
If it’s working well and you are enjoying it then it sounds like everything is good. When you talk about $150, that is a reasonable price for a recently serviced bike. It just comes down to if it was what you wanted to buy and the sizing. It’s a pretty old bike, without looking it up I’d guess very early 90s. If it’s just basic transportation it’s perfect, don’t overthink it.
