Depending on size of your city and need for the bike it could be valued between $25 and $100.

You can decode the year with the serial number but by then you’ve spent more time than it’s worth

Id say early 1980s and no value. Anyone taking it on will probably need to spend on it.
I can’t imaging anyone would want to.

petition to remove and ban posts purely seeking valuation. i thought this was for ENTHUSIASTS not people trying to sell stuff. that’s what facebook is for.

A little tune up and some cleaning and it would be a fine bike for the city. As a useful means of transportation it has immense value. That doesn’t translate into being able to sell it for a lot of money though. As someone above mentioned, the bike would be best to find someone who needs a good city bike.

If you NEED a bike, it’s Priceless. A Chicago Schwinn is basically a Ford Crown Vic with pedals: Cheap, Dependable, Heavy.
At the same time, like most vintage bikes, $60, if the tires are good. $20 if not.
But man, a couple DUIs and this thing will be your savior. It’s also the kinda bike you can leave locked up on the street and totally expect to see it there in the morning… Or even after 5 years. And even then it will probably only need air in the tires.

$25 max. Less if all the tires and brake pads are dry rotted.
