First time with a folding bicycle here at 35, never stopped riding a bicycle since I was a kid. But when I was very little, my mom's bike got stolen while locked, and I never locked a bicycle outside. I would restrain my bike trips to schools, workplaces and gyms since those are generally places with bike parking.
Using it was an incredible experience. It is very lightweight, compact, it doesn't seem to bother anyone when you carry into something while folded and when I was in a very dangerous avenue with very fast cars, I could easily ride slow on the sidewalk and nobody seemed to care since it is so compact.
Also, during my visit to the park, I could easily cross pedestrian bridges with stairs by just picking the bicycle up without even having to fold, that was incredible.
It was also surprisingly fast, and very light on the uphills.
The only downsides were:
- The looks, I'm shy, I had no idea I would get that. Especially from men, I'm a dude and thought dudes were only into cars, girls and ball sports, but people look at it like it was a sport car/athlete. On the flip side, people compliment a lot and interactions are positive.
- The price, of course, almost went bankrupt, but it was definitely worth it, it enhances my car free lifestyle by a lot.
- And some Ubers in Brazil are tiny to fit it in the trunk comfortably (Renault Kwid or Fiat Mobi), so I bought a Rhinowalk Aliexpress bag to bring with me in the back seat. (Haven't arrived yet).
But yeah, that is it, it is incredible, the attention to detail is phenomenal, and it looks beautiful.

Welcome to the club OP, yes it’s weird how much attention a riding a Brompton draws wasn’t expecting it either when I got mine.
Nice! Love the color contrast between frame & rear triangle very stylish!
Try the Ikea Baggmuck 18×14” shoe tray … fits the footprint of the folded Brompton perfectly and it’s only $1.99.

Imalso bought the 18z24” for applying drip wax, I just lay some paper towels on it and let it dry overnight, using small bike stand!
I live in two bedroom condo, so for simple maintenance like waxing I use small bike stands, instead of lugging out my big park tool stand:
For drip waxing the bike:

Just got this for washing it outside, or inside with spray wash:
