[Music] In this video, I continue my adventure south in Sweden. I will cycle to the lake her and there I get rained in for days. I will fly my drone in the sunrise. And in this adventure, the water and electricity I take from the nature and I cycle and wild camp for 40 days in a row. [Music] [Music] 3 kilometers and not not a car. I love these roads and read all the funny names of these small small places over there. It’s oluda. Yeah, you can uh Yeah, that’s a scary animal or not animal. It’s a fiction. [Music] [Music] [Music] Yeah. Almost maybe no cars still 7 kilometers. Hello. Hello. Beautiful place you got. Yeah. Shall you go over it? [Music] One thing traveling on the day is that it’s not this feeling in the back of my head that soon I have to go because it’s going to be dark. But that thought is stupid because you have your map on your phone, you have your flashlights, you see exactly where you are. And with a flashlight, you can go around and find a spot. But anyway, it’s here behind somewhere. And now I’m going to start cycling again. Yes. Sauce. house a road forest on the one side and forest on the other side. That’s how it should be. But yeah, both of this forest has been touched and cut before by humans. And over there is the food. [Music] Wild animal. [Music] [Music] [Music] Yeah, I’m very close now. And I hope I don’t need to go uh put the fences away and stop. And uh maybe I were scaring them before they see who I who I am. But this may be more like lumberjack road to the lake and that’s much better even if I hate the lumberjack [Music] roads. Okay, let’s see. I feel a good feeling about this. I like the area. But then the question always come, how far away from the lake can I be? Can I come down to the lake or not? It looks like it’s going to be problem to get down to the lake. I do a spawning now and we see what we do. Here I can go with the bike. I need to carry the bike and carry the bag. Now I can see the phone got in the wrong way here. Oh, this is not fun. Is it easier to go through that seed forest? Planted forest. Oh, another graveyard. Not the perfect. My intuition was wrong. Is it possible to take the things through the foam forest? The not real foam forest. Oh, I don’t know what to do now. I will go here. because carrying all those bags down there is not worth it. So maybe I just sleep in this cushy soft my other madress. There’s uh some kind of puncture. I think Whoa. I think it would have to be something like this. But it’s very many trees, so it’s hard to get to place. Here is so close. I will sleep here somewhere. Okay, let’s go and get the bike in the bench. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Let’s see if I can get any water. Rain in the air, so I don’t dare to leave anything out. Now is the next thing. Can I reach it without baring? Now we come to this section where it could be you could get wet get through this. Okay. Yeah, I reached it. Beautiful. and stone saucer to stand on. Nice. Too late for coffee, but tea. [Applause] Tea is coming up. Clock is 3 in the morning and I’m going to prepare for a flight. It’s cloudy. So I think that’s why it’s so dark and the clock is getting the sunrise is getting later and later. So, doesn’t say so much, but I’m happy. It’s a rain period and it’s going to rain and rain and rain rain, but it’s not raining when I’m going to fly. Yes, I’m grateful. It’s 8° shears. But it’s nice. Put some extra clothes on and no mosquitoes. I can sit with the tent open. But it’s very dark. I’m not used to this darkness. I’m very close to I have been very close to turn on my head head lamp. Now I’m going to go down there and do a drone flight. But it’s very hard to get down between all these [Music] [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Music] No taste, but it tastes very Well, with the freshed squeezed water, lake water. Let’s do some tea. I will show you something. If you look Yeah. straight forward from me. You see the the trees are in a very good line like this. It looks normal, but they are in lines. So that’s the forest we got now where it’s only one type of tree in blinds. I’m speechless. Seems like you need to go far to get to the old forests in the north. Less than 10% of them left untouched. But this this y enjoy it. But it’s not like going north cuz here is more it it looks more like home like in Stockholm. So there’s no difference in the nature in the same way as going north. So it’s and more people. So it’s not this adventurous feeling. you get to meet the landlords and [Music] stuff. So, yeah, that’s my how I see it so far. I’m going to soon turn north again and I will go between van and then vet them and uh it’s not so many legs there if you’re not it’s in between two big lakes. Yes, I know. But I I want the the small lakes because they are the most funny and beautiful to film. But I will find a solution. It’s been raining since the sunrise. And now, ah, maybe I can load my power banks because that’s in the back of my head because today, the rest of the day is going to be rain. Tomorrow, the whole day, it’s going to be rain. The day after that, it’s not going to be rain, but cloudy. So I can can cycle, but uh I don’t know next time I can load the power banks. And right now they’re on 60%. And I I’m also very happy that I have this 100,000 milliamp batteries because else this will be the end of the independence of the electricity making Um, that’s white pepper and salt. That’s the two spices I got. I’ve been looking at the forecast and it says rain for a week. Now it’s really a question if the power banks really lost. And I’m already thinking about oh travel loader multiloader, go to a camp, sleep there one night and uh load all the eight units of power banks I got. If I have to, I I I do that, but it will not be fun. Uh, this is the Yep. This is the third. I’ve been sleeping here two nights now. a really really big bird. And it’s not raining right now. And that’s that’s irritating because it’s going to be rainy. So I really feel that no, don’t go. It’s okay. Don’t cycle today. It’s 10° and I’ve been sitting here for a while. It’s and then it gets into your bones. So now I need to do this uh with this. I haven’t counted with the gas going to heat my body up. So I may have to go and buy more gas later on. I don’t like to go shopping on a bike touring tour. You know, you’re worried about your things. You need to I carry them with me. I never let the bike outside with the bags if it’s not a gas station with uh not wrong people around. But now, finally, I’m going to get warm again. But the gas is soon out. But I have more. I’m going to have it. under my jacket and then I keep it here and then I have my sleeping bag over my legs and then I can sit yeah cozy and warm even if it’s coming a a wet cold wind always coming this way. But now, yeah, I checked how to do if I need to go to and buy gas because there are I’m going between Vanon and Vet, one of two of the biggest lakes in Sweden. And uh there’s a lot of different fly forbidden areas with of different reasons. So it’s quite complicated. If I want to shoot the uh the sunrise every morning, I need to avoid these areas and yeah, need to be in the right distance by going and buying and going to another lake. Need to have not too long distance. And it’s a lot of planning when you start looking at things. Bit of sun. Yeah, I’ve been checking the situation with these ones and you know the propane butane mix everywhere in the whole country different uh different stores and kind of stores that sells this is empty. So I need to be careful with using the stub. not not that extra tea and coffee or every day and stuff. So yeah, I found a cool way up between those two lakes, Van and Aveton. There’s a long long river in between and I’m lucky there’s a lot of drone forbidden areas as I told you and uh uh this this little river have no restrictions so it’s perfect for me to just follow a river uh through the narrow drone areas where I can Try still haven’t decided about the electric situation. It’s have I have not been able to load for a week maybe and there’s a one more week is rainy and that’s two weeks. That’s more than I have, I think, battery. So, maybe I buy this uh where load loading thing that can load many things and I go to a camping and load my power banks. But that we will see. And that would be the first time in history I I I fail with the solar panels. It’s a new day. It’s been raining like they said this morning. And uh now when I check how’s the day, they changed. Yesterday they said it’s going to rain at 8 in the evening. Now they say it’s going to rain 12 on the day and they say it’s going to be 4 hours rain, very little rain. But when it’s like this, it can come big big rains without any warning like it did last year. and I was so close to hypothermia and that was awful. So I’m a bit overreacting uh of rain since then. I I I feel now I’m very careful but you you can’t really know. The only thing you can do is look on the sky and look on the phone and hope for the best and have a plan if it starts to to rain because now it’s it’s not so it’s only 10°. So if you get wet now it’s it’s oh it’s scary. But I will go and buy food if I get rained and can’t move for a couple of days. And uh yeah, I I I will go out. Wish me luck. very and very slowly but I’m sh I changed my mind uh this is not fun but when I know by calculating that I will be in a 4hour hour, 5 hour rain. No. And it’s going to be cold, too. So, why take the risk? I don’t in a rush yet. Uh, like I always have, I planned for 40 days, but I got eight more days be before I start to work again, but they change all the time, the weather report. So, tomorrow is going to be no rain. Yay. So, of course, I will cycle, but I’m afraid tomorrow when I wake up, check the weather report, they change to rain again. Rainy periods. And also the worry about that this power banks won’t last. I’m down to like 60%. And that’s much I can survive with six days, maybe five days. And if I’m really not using the electronics so much more than filming and navigating. Uh so this time all the time safety first. No hypothermia. No, don’t want to take the risk of hypothermia like I did one one time before. It was really scary. It’s uh it’s an episode you can see when I’m doing that, but I wasn’t able to film it so well because it was raining cats and dogs. Uh yeah, it’s a rainy day. No, rainy period. Look at the episodes before and after. It’s It’s hard days. And I was in a rush. That was what make my uh big mistake that day. So, never in a rush. Safety first. This is the day I will come from here. And I’ve been longing. Oh, finally it’s not going to rain today. And I’m going to buy food. I only have pasta and two sausages left. Finally, I can leave this place and I’m going mental. I don’t know if it’s three or four nights now. Only rain. Yeah, you’ve been through this. But now I’m going to go and buy food. I don’t have any food and uh everything is prepared. It feels unreal leaving this place and I can say yeah you know how the lake looks like but around the lake it’s like a a [Music] wall and it’s planted in rows. Okay, where’s the bags? Thank you, your videos are giving me inspiration for my own 3 month bicycle tour in Sweden next year.
Thanks for the packing list. How many kg is that approximately? Would appreciate if you could estimate how much of that weight is filming gear, batteries and solar stuff which I personally might not be carrying. Any issues with wheel spokes on that gravel bike with that sort of load please? Your skew-whiff helmet set off my OCD alarm! 😃
Hi man
Great video…Do you have any advice how to deal with ticks or any recommendations? 🙂
Welcome to my list,
