I put gsport protectors like this on the rear pegs, but I don't know if it's exactly right, my old hub had a slight dent on the axle thread, I suspected that. It is true?

Yeah that’s right.. just make sure that the bolt that attaches it to the peg sits in the drop out slot to prevent spinning..
That’s the one, the bolt stops it rotating, the axle holds it in place. Make sure the bolt goes behind your back axle
This style of guard ruined my profile hub cones every time.
