I saw this bike on FB marketplace. Its going for 800 CAD, but it is 17 years old and I'm scared the parts might not be good enough. Is the bike worth anything in 2025 and if what should I offer?

Iād see if you can haggle down a bit. I sold the same bike a couple years ago but with full Dura Ace 7800 groupset for about the same price.
I had trouble with that wheelset as well, which came stock with the bike. After riding it in a heavy rainfall a bunch of water got into the rear bearings, which rusted and completely seized. Ended up having to replace them.
Looks like a good deal to me. Bring $800 in your pocket and try haggling him down a bit. Worst case,$800 still a good price
It will be a great bike as long as thereās nothing wrong with it. If you ride it for a year or two a few bucks doesnāt matter at all

This is a throwback! I had the Roubaix of this generation (same colour scheme with Quick Step logos).
Itās a little pricey for me and I wouldnāt buy even if the price was lower.
– can only take narrow tyres.
– The carbon frames of these really arenāt very good. Although carbon had been around for a while this was pretty much the first generation where they became truly mass produced. They are flexy and buzzy. I loved mine until I got my 2012 SL4 Roubaix and then realized how bad it was
– 17 years old. Part availability will be an issue and gearing is a little narrow compared to more modern counterparts.
I saw separately you answered you would buy a 17 year old car if it was vintage. Thatās fine , just be clear thatās your purpose.
