I'm new to cycling so I'm looking for something second hand and reasonably priced. If I'm correct, this is a Giant Defy 1; which the blue book puts at a value of a little less than 300$. Should I bother offering this amount? Thank you.

Yeah it’s overpriced. At most 400
I mean, it’s in decent shape for how old it is but yeah, extremely overpriced. Blue book is probably right on this one if not less.
My co-op would likely sell that for 600 these days.
1) bikes are more expensive these days
2) blue book sucks
3) small bikes are hard to come by
But we would have put new tires brake pads chain and given it a tune up so there’s plenty of added value.
Those tires look stock and old. 400 is a fair offer. 800 is wild.
