Personally I would go Commencal all day. Treks are everywhere and the meta is a bit more rare and I always love not recommending Trek any chance I get 😂

The first thing I noticed is the trek has a dropper post and the commencal doesn’t and if you’re going to be doing any kind of technical stuff its almost a necessity. So with the commencal you’ll need to add ~100-200$ to the price to buy a dropper. The second difference is that the commencal is a mullet and the trek is full 29 so that may influence your decision. I’d personally take the commencal and buy a dropper. You’ll then have a pretty capable hardtail for most things. But of course the most important question is what kind of trails are you going to be riding
