I have built a few bikes in the last couple years, but have been wanting a GT 26er for a pretty long time now. I saw one for a good price on FB marketplace and snagged it. Took it to my local co-op and searched all the bins to make this bike mine.
I wanted to try out a 1x setup so I opted to keep the wheels and replaced the cassette and rear derailleur. Changed out the brifters for a single rear shifter, and replaced the crank with what looks like some type of beach cruiser type which looks a little corny with the plastic shield but I’ve grown to like it. Apart from the tires and cables, everything on this bike is pre-owned, and I really like the way it turned out.

That’s interesting, what’s up with the crank?
