In mid-July I will ride the route from Geneva to Nice through the French Alps. As I understand, there is a chance to get both in the cold and in the heat, both on a sunny day and in heavy rain. Who has traveled in those regions, please tell me if I should buy overshoes? If I need to buy, do I need to buy with insulation or without? At the moment I have stopped at either https://www.tradeinn.com/bikeinn/en/velotoze-tall-silicone-2.0-overshoes/137947694/p or https://www.tradeinn.com/bikeinn/en/sportful-speed-skin-silicone-overshoes/137030501/p . Can you give me your opinion?

Personally, I’ve never used overshoes in the Alps in the summer. If I’ve ever been rained on, I’ve dried out fairly quickly in the summer sun.
However, if you do want to take overshoes, a pack-able lightweight waterproof set will be fine, to break the wind on any descents. Insulated will probably not be necessary.
Also ensure you have a decent rain jacket, and also a pair of gloves for cold descents.
Never used overshoes myself… but looks like you have plenty of options lol
All the gear and no eye deer.
Neoprene toe covers take up a fraction of the space. Obviously less protection but still offer some extra warmth and keep the worst of the weather out
The velotoze work well and will keep your feet dry for hours in the rain. But they are fragile and need to be put on/taken off carefully!
