No, its still just a bike, but bikes enable us to do things easier than by foot and quite often, by car.
Since it is just a thing, it wont last forever, things can be stolen, they can rust, they can fall apart. In my experience its not about the bike, it’s about the activities the bike enables us to enjoy.
Bikes come and go. Enjoy them while they last, but the experience of the ride is what endures.
