Hey guys— basically new Shimano Alphine 8 Gear hub started making these clacking sounds when freewheeling at high RPMs. Any thoughts on what the sound could be from. I can’t say 100 that is the hub but it certainly seems to be. I’ve never opened it up and I bought it new so I can say with confidence that this isn’t something I screwed up. 🤣
This is on a Brompton G Line if that makes a difference and the sound only just began after about 100 miles.

Not an expert on IG hubs but the more concerning thing I hear is clash between the guide pully and the cog when you pedal caused by inadequate b tension, though your derailleur/ chain tensioner might not have a b screw.
Just a thought: are you sure this isn’t the brake rotor scrubbing the caliper or pads?… sorta sounds like the brake to my ears.
Also noted that your chain is making a lot of noise on the tensioner when pedaling: is everything aligned and lubricated properly?
