Hi! I was wondering if you could help me determine some more information about this bike that I bought recently. I have very little info – but didn’t pay much, so won’t be too disappointed if it turns out to be nothing special.
I’m told by the seller it’s a Mongoose bike from ~1979, but from what I can tell on the internet, I’m not sure if Mongoose made/makes road bikes. Additionally, it has tubes from Columbus and Shimano 600 derailleurs; I’m told they’re original to the bike but not certain. It seems to be in nice condition, with just a few spots of rust that I think I can work on.
I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me ID this bike or give me more info on it. Thanks very much!

That is obscenely pretty. It’s the old Mongoose logo for sure. They make fixed gear bikes now so I’m guessing they probably made road bikes back in the day.
