I am changing the rack to a slimmer one, I already changed the tires.

However, I have 2 problems:
1. The original rack seems to be bolted/screwed to the fender, and it only has one screw point to the bike frame. Is this a good setup, should I replicate this with the new fender? This would mean replicate the holes that it has to have the same mounting points. Since the fender is attached to the rack, should I still use the struts for the back wheel?
2. I have to route the light cable under the fender, however, it doesn't have any mounting guides, any tips or suggestions on how to do it?

The new fender are the SKS Bluemels https://www.sks-germany.com/Produkte/Schutzbleche/BLUEMELS-BASIC-SET.htm?a=article&ProdNr=104&p=1003

you may be able to use the new fender as a support bracket.

but if the new fender was not designed for that purpose, it may not safely support the rack.

Your new rack will prob have forward mounting struts that can mount to those black bolts near the seatpost.

For the light wire, a simple strip of tape on the inside of the fender may suffice.
For more protection, you could attach a length of small plastic tubing under the fender through which to run the wire.

welcome to the world of customization!
