I'm looking for my first road/endurance bike and have been trying to find a reasonable deal on a synapse. I'm trying to keep my budget under $1000. Is this bike worth what they're asking or could I talk them down?

Way too much. If it were $700 then maybe.
$500-700 I wonder if you might be better off with more tire clearance?
