    Sheldon Brown himself said it: unless you are a pro cyclist, commuting is the most important thing you can do on a bike!

    It gets you to work so you can make money to sustain yourself AND it saves the city and the planet.
    So no, a bike is never ‘just a commuter’

    Dude you have more fixie points than a lot of people just by having foot straps, i think you’re good. Looks like you ride your bike, that’s the kind of bike that looks the best

    There I was thinking this sub was purely for “Roast my tsunami” posts with one foot strap and bootleg zipp wheels.

    Love seeing how riders adapt their fixed gears for practical purposes. Good stuff.

    Riding fixed was the OG way people got to work back in the day.  Watch any old turn-of-the-century films of city streets and you’ll see some peaky blinder looking fixie foos riding to their godawful factory jobs in full tweed and leather shoes on brakeless bikes, no foot retention.  Fixed commuters ARE commuters!
