Car door opened into my as I was cycling by, caused the chain to drop off onto the frame well I was peddling. Scraped up the bottom bracket with one larger chip that has me a little concerned.
Any opinion on if this is fine to gloss over with some epoxy and keep an eye on for any signs of cracking, or does this need to be patched up professionally?

My 2 cents – as much as it really sucks to see such damage, bb shell of a carbon frame is probably the most overbuilt/toughest area of a carbon frame. It should be just fine. If you really want to be sure, you could remove the crank and even bb to check for any damage not visible externally, but if it were me, I’d just clean and touch up the chipped area, put some clear coat on top and keep riding.

Just got my road bike back from this exact thing. It was heartbreaking. Unfortunately kinda expensive to fix but a place called Ruckus Composites did the repair and they’re A+. I can only recall dropping my chain once and didn’t even realize the damage until way later.
