Hello everyone !
First of all, big disclaimer, comparing to most of the people in this sub i'm a (very) casual biker runner.
That being said, 2 years ago I was looking for a bike that could cover my needs : going occasionnaly to work with it (8km, on roads) and being able to go out on small trips (<50km) the weekend on road but also a little bit off road.
My choice went to a pathlite 5 which I love a lot. It covers everything I need and feels great to ride !
This weekend tho, I went to some friends house with it, it was very climby (500m elevation on 10km, not big for many of you but it was for me) and I felt like my energy was'nt transmetted well to the road.
I think that may mostly be cause my tires ( Schwalbe G-One Bite 40mm ) are mostly made for offroad than road and I'm losing a lot of efficiency while climbing.
I live in a quite mountainous area and I'm starting thinking on how I can improve my gear to fit this needs.
I don't do that much offroad, I mostly took this cause I wanted a versatile bike having no idea on what I were use it for.
I'm also open to consider buying a bike more fitted for the road but I don't want invest too much money for now.
So I guess my question is : is there any gear change I could do to make my pathlite more fitted for mountains road or should I start looking and saving for something more fitted to it.
Have a nice day all !
