The thing that elevated my cycling game was eating something small every 30-50 minutes, like granola or fruit or even gummy candy, just something quick on your stomach. Looks like a nice ride along the beach so keep a slow steady pace and enjoy some of the beach views, it’s never a race. Have fun

  3. Bring a swimsuit, or just hop in in your riding clothes. Mid ride swim at Sandy Hook is good. Probably don’t need to carry too much food/water, lots of options if you don’t mind getting off the bike, but definitely bring a bike lock.

Careful coming down what looks like Lakewood-Allenwood Rd, not the most bike friendly with a few blind corners and people drive fast.

If you are doing 25 mi rides a couple times a week, you’re ready to do a 50 now. It’ll go by before you know it. Just make sure you hydrate and bring snacks to fuel yourself.

What the fuck we are basically neighbors. Get some gels first time i did that ride i wanted to just pull over and take a nap on the side of the road. Just fuel ull be fine.

Oh yeah you can just do that with no prep. It will suck a bit but not that bad.
