Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Bluesky Threads This is the original Shimano Altus RD-M310 on a bike I am rehabbing. Is this amount of side to side slop on the hanger bolt normal? echo-tango86 on May 21, 2025 2:31 am Totally normal. There’s a lot less on the high end stuff, but they can have that as well.
Outside_Criticism_77 on May 21, 2025 3:01 am Make sure the bolt is all the way tightened but yeah if it’s old and or cheap that’s fairly normal.
Sure_Balance8088 on May 21, 2025 3:01 am Cheaper the derailleur the more “play” you get in them. It’s fine
9hourtrashfire on May 21, 2025 4:29 am OP—I just want to praise you for that rare video that clearly illustrated your question.
isimies on May 21, 2025 5:15 am Hanger looks Bent, derailleur should Be completely straight and in LINE with cassette. This is not gonna shift well.
MrRichardH on May 21, 2025 5:47 am On a related subject, judging by the extremely pointed teeth on the cassette, it’s totally worn out.
