So unsure on the exchange rate or what the Canadian bike market is but for a 10 year old rim brake carbon bike with a standard wheelset I would be paying £300-450 in the UK.
The market is awash with bikes like this and it’s not boutique enough to warrant the higher price.
Please note these are only my thoughts.

  2. I’m in Quebec and just went on Marketplace for Ruby around me. There’s more than 20 of them and they all go from 800$ to 1500$. 1000$ looks like an OK deal. You don’t get scammed but it’s not a deal.

Whereabouts are you located in Canada? You should be able find newer road/gravel bikes with disk brakes for around that price. Check out the buy/sell on pinkbike.com

Edit: If I had to buy a $1000 bike today I’d be looking at something like this: https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/3240846/

  4. Ideally 600-800 CAD but the Canadian market can be more difficult to get a good price. Ultegra with the cables exiting the shifter at the top means that the bike is from 2008-2010. I would be suspicious of the milage quote. What sort of tune-up? They have a receipt? I suspect that this is a reseller and did their own work.
