Come along with me as I navigate the mean streets of Edinburgh. Okay, they’re not exactly mean, but they do have cobblestones. And you drive on the left side of the road here, which I haven’t done in years. I just keep repeating to myself, keep the curb on your left side. Keep the curb on your left side. Fortunately, Edinburgh has a great system of cycleways, so I don’t have to contend with the cars too much. They even have a bridge specifically for bikes, pedestrians, and buses. How badass is that? My ride takes me out of Edinburgh to meet up with these beautiful humans I met on my first bike tour ever in Scotland six years ago. Mark and Audrey take me for a visit to St. Andrews and out for lunch in Cray, a lovely historic fishing village on the east coast. This brings me to one of my top travel tips. Even if you’re an introvert like me, make an effort to connect with people wherever you go. Not only have I found way better advice from locals than I do online, I’ve even ended up with friends for life.
