I bought my 4 speed Brompton electric there, only choice was 4 & racing green. Seven months later I found I really needed 12 speed for lower gearing in my hilly town, so I was going to return it (they still carry only one electric model) but Brompton owning mechanic said I could exchange it. They could special order a 12 speed electric for me. Looking at it now!! Love REI!!
My original discount on the bike was about 33%, I bought Labor Day and was a new customer, so all the deals, credit card signup & bonus totaled up to about that!! Of course that’s REI credits … which I have only used for mostly sale items over time I had already planned to purchase, so I am way ahead!!
The REI near me has a racing green and a yuzu green that they’ve had on the floor for over 6 months it’s seems like. I keep going in hoping they’re deeply discounted one day. That day has yet to come.
I got mine from REI also. Overall great, but make sure the hub gears are tuned correctly! (mine weren’t)
