Ok, for starters I know NOTHING about bikes and am very new/just getting started with this.
Been wanting to get on a bike for a while just to keep active and a neighbor of mine was upgrading his mountain bike so I got this for dirt cheap. It needs some TLC as it’s been sitting in my garage since last October.
I know it’s a mountain bike and I fear that it may be a little too “hardcore” for me. It’s a nice bike, loaded with features but I’m looking for something that I can take on greenways and much less extreme terrain. The gearing on this bike is so low that most of the low gears are useless/unneeded for street riding. My thoughts are that I should clean it up and trade it/sell it for something more street friendly/casual. Problem is I have no idea what it’s worth on the 2nd hand market or what to ask. I know it’s a MARIN and I THINK it’s a Hawk Hill 3.
Any insight is greatly appreciated!!

It has two wheels. At least two.
Keep the bike, it’s fine for what you need it too, you should enjoy the geometry of it.
Specs are nice, take it to a local bike shop to clean it, service it and fine tune it for your custom needs.
Very good bikes for the prices
Id sell it for $400 (or less to a neighborhood kid who will have fun with it) and buy an aluminum gravel bike or just a hybrid bike if your not actually going to be off pavement much
It has bouncy bits and 2 wheels
His name is Martin and he’s from Hawk Hill. Enjoys long rides in the woods and is not afraid of a little gnar as long as you’re up to the task.
Stolen
Disappointed it’s not named Hank Hill
It has 2 wheels. Full suspension and is chain driven. Hope this helps..
This was my first full suspension MTB. I found it in a dumpster, put $400 into it to refresh the bike and got 5 years out of it before selling it for $600.
