I can relate, well, mine are always breaking between legs 😂

I keep my pants in a bag and wear bibs for the ride 🤷

Riding in jeans? Ewwww.
I ride on my C15 with athletic shorts and it hasn’t caused any damage to my shorts even after thousands of kilometres of riding.

I don’t ride in jeans

Since most people aren’t actually answering your question… Yes, my jeans look like this. I don’t have a leather saddle, so I assume it’s just that position of being seated.
I cycle in my every day life. I’m not putting lycra on to go to work (25 min ride) or to go into my city, get my hair cut and do a bit of shopping (20 min ride.) I’m riding slowly in clothes appropriate for the destination.

I’ve seen multiple people complain about the C17 messing up their jeans. I don’t have any markings from miles in my jeans on the plain Selle saddle I got w/ my bike.

I reinforce the ass/crotch with scraps cut from previous worn out pants. Also right knee.

Cambium saddles seem to be perfectly engineered to destroy your pants. Constant rubbing against the rough texture of the fabric on top is like sandpaper. I had to switch it off my commuter to my gravel bike.
Even with a normal saddle you are eventually going to blow out the crotch of your jeans, but it is what it is!

That’s used to happen to me a lot, so now I wear cycling shorts whenever I ride. Keep my normal clothing in my backpack

I don’t usually ride in regular denim jeans, although I have a couple “jeans” from Betabrand (very stretchy, athletic feel) that have held up for years. Maybe it’s the seat?

Yes. I used to get through about a pair a year, cycling basically everyday in alternating trousers – but now I reinforce with older ones like those purpose made ones you can buy. Works well.

Get jeans and shorts with gussets. Duluth trading has them (and they make a summer oriented jeans with cool max that have gussets too). The gusset/diamond shaped patch on the crotch lets them last longer for biking.Â
There are bicycle specific Jean companies as well that have gussets that you can look into but many are a bit pricier and may not have a local place to try them on. Duluth has a store near me so I’ve been pretty happy going there.Â
20 oz Oni denim on a B17 and a Selle Royale rubberish saddle. Had them darned three times over three years, just got a replacement pair this week! This was a pair with a very high rise and more room around the butt. It lasted much longer than previous pairs with a lower-rise fit.
The Selle Royale saddle on my folding bike is starting to break down, so I may replace it with another B17 – I definitely feel less friction on the leather saddle.

It’s the inner thighs that blow out of my pants.

Same issue no way around it really. Levis used to make a commuter model that had reinforced crotch and pass portions, even had a loop on the waist to hang a U lock. Unfortunately they got discontinued.

My last saddle used to donthat to all my shorts. The current one doesn’t.

Same issue for me, not Brooks related. It’s a badge of honour, but can get costly if you go through then frequently.Â
