Buckle up. Get ready for our first serious summit finish of the 2025 Jireed Italia. We’re finishing up at the top of Talia Kotzo. Starting off in the region of Compana and finishing over there in Abrutoo. Now we have three categorized two climbs before we get there. The first one, well, we’re starting up at altitude, more of a descent after that climb, but three climbs and then we have this cat one climb and it’s around about 12 km to get to the top, averaging 5 1.5%. What I want you to note though is there’s a key sector 13% before the final four kilometers or so that’s averaging around 10%. Now, this is going to be a nasty day. And we’re hoping the conditions are better than what we have now at the end of stage six in Naples, cuz it was a wet and wild one out there, because tomorrow, if the rain’s coming and we have the altitude and we have the climbing, it could add that extra bit of element that the riders really don’t want. Now, Matt Person has been in that pink jersey for most of this year, except for a day where he lent it over to Primos Araglitch. And that’s exactly the rider you want to keep your eye on tomorrow. Who do I think are the favorites? Well, I just mentioned Primos Ragglitch, the 2023 Giratalia winner and top gun, top favorite, top dog in this Giratalia. Now, keep note, he just lost one of his key helpers and former Jiratalia winner, Jai Henley. Also, look out for Wanao who lost a teammate in the crash in the Naples stage. He lost Jay Vine. It’s going to be a huge fight out there. We’re also going to keep an eye out for our Canadian friend Derek G who came down in the crash, only bloodied up his left leg. He said, “Ah, it’s no problem. I’ll be up there tomorrow fighting for it.” We’re going to see a huge GC battle, the biggest one so far in the 2025 Giratalia stage seven up to Talia Kotzo.
