It will work until it wont could be for 30 feet or 30 miles impossible to tell

I had a bad rock strike that bent the inner plate of my pulley cage (Tiagra 10spd), I did my best to reform the plate back straight.
Is it safe to ride like this while I wait for my replacement parts to arrive? I have a couple of road rides planned this weekend, about 70 km each with grades of up to 10%, and I don’t want to drop a chain while climbing hard or descending.

Just make sure the cage doesn’t get caught in the spokes when on the lightest gear and it will be “safe”, but it probably won’t shift perfectly.

I’d keep riding on with it like that but also be looking for a replacement. Depends how bad shifting was as well.
Not related, but your cassette and jockey wheels are looking worn, when was the last time you checked/replaced your chain? Would be a bummer to have to replace the whole drivetrain just because the chain wasn’t replaced in time.

Yes it’s safe. But, speaking from experience, once the metal has weakened, it will bend much easier, mine lasted about 10 minutes. As long as you’re ok with going home early (and potentially walking a bit) on your next ride, go for it, otherwise I’d buy a new one.

Tiagra 10spd derailleurs are dirt cheap. [Just buy another one.](https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChsSEwibzK_WmaiNAxWGnFoFHSv0DiMYACICCAEQExoCdnU&co=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwxJvBBhDuARIsAGUgNfhCG4QfB01II5BDHmZtlgLFER5RenGNsbiV8mJnrG7LVMegjnoYPboaAohbEALw_wcB&cce=1&sig=AOD64_2Ke-Z9f9ajw2WbGQTIYGSYwfHUVw&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwihg6rWmaiNAxWTSjABHcIZHNYQwg8oAHoECAYQIg&adurl=)
