I managed to squeeze in a sneaky overnighter on the Munda Biddi trail this weekend. The MBT is a 1070km mountain bike trail from Perth to Albany in Western Australia. It’s a combination of forestry roads and single track and has dedicated huts along the way (such as the one pictured with my bike strung up while I adjusted the gears after shifting into my spokes).

My actual mountain bike needs new forks so I put the 27.5’s on my hybrid commuter. Frankenstein’s bike worked pretty well.

I’m poor so haven’t got all the go-faster bikepacking gear but a few dry bags and some straps got it all squared away nicely.

There was a good reminder to check the depth of water crossings before committing!

Wow, that seems like a gorgeous trail (except for the flooded part). How was it doing the single track on those tires? Is it technical single track or simply narrow, tire width track? I don’t know much about Australia (US here); I may be making a trip within the next five years and this looks like something I’d try , haha.
