2.0 Race Kings only come in the lesser casing, so 2.2 is the way.

That’s not a question anyone can answer. There are too many “it depends“ things to consider. What kind of road versus trail are you riding? What are the trail conditions like, what level of gravel are you riding; flat versus uphill downhill? Are you getting paid to ride?how much does everything weigh? What percentage of your rides include dirt versus road ? How much do you care what other people think? Are you optimizing for a feel/comfort, or more performance? etc. etc. etc.

My strong suggestion is to put either one on; and don’t look back. Don’t think about it, just go out and ride and ride until they’re worn out.

  3. As someone else pointed out, they are different casings and critically, different compound. The compound is key to the super fast rolling of the 2.2. There are a few other 2.0 MTB tires but the fastest 2.0 I think are the newest gravel tires. If you’re mostly doing type 1 and a little bit of type 2 gravel then I would stick with the 2.0. If it’s more type 2 and a lot of type 3 then I would go to the 2.2 Tire. I am running 2.1 Thunder Burts. Most of my races are type 2 for the most part. For some races I will put a 2.2 race King on the front.
