I repainted my '85 Trek about two years ago. I've been pleased with how well the paint has held up. I have been rough on it: daily commuting, long gravel rides, city trips, and I hardly ever wash it.
I would say it has lost some of its initial gloss and chipped a little more easily than the original DuPont paint — but that's to be expected. Originally, there were parts that were more glossy and some that looked rough and almost had a sandpaper texture (like the TREk stamps on the stays). Time has evened those out a bit, in good ways and bad. Cable rub probably took its toll sooner than it would have with factory paint.
Overall, though, Spray.Bike continues to exceed my expectations. A lot of people are cautious about home paint jobs–and for good reason, as professional paint will generally look better and hold up longer. But if you are considering it, I endorse it as a fun and inexpensive project.

Patina vibes tho!
Did you do a 700c conversion or are those the original 27″ wheels? Beautiful build and color choice!
Top coat or is it just a single layer? I’ll have to get a pic of my 83 620 next to Mr Taylor next time I ride by there 😁
