Am I the only one that sees this whenever they see a PNS kit on here? It was cringe when it was tacky, suburban sweatpant-wearing moms in the early 2000s, and it’s even more cringe now that it’s tacky urban, lycra-clad roadies 20 years later, because we should know better by now. Some fashion and style choices are just better left in the past.

I do think the quality is there, and it’s truly a shame they’re so committed to the branding year after year when it’s such polarizing and off-putting option that regularly drives potential buyers away. People used to gently poke fun at the name “PNS” before, but over the last few years, it’s turned into full out ridicule and constant criticism of not just the brand but those who wear it. At one point, it felt like the brand was growing where I live (Southern California), but I don’t think I’ve actually seen a mechanism kit out in the wild in the wild this year.

I’ve been checking their products for the past several years hoping it will change. With branding being the main issue that people cite against buying the brand, I have a hard time understanding why they seem to be really leaning into it rather than listening to the feedback. However, if they were losing sales, I’d imagine they’d change it, so they must be doing fine, right?

PNS has done a great job of making me want to never wear or own a piece of their clothing. It has nothing to do with having PeNiS written on it.

Their whole design style is centred around prominent branding and colour blocks so I don’t think it would change much. They occasionally have patterned jerseys I quite like, but I would like them more without the honking great logo.

  3. I live in the epi center of Pas Normal, so even people outside of cycling ‘makes fun’ of it – but I’ve neeeeever ever heard people make fun of the branding/text?!

The Penis thing same. Never heard anyone outside of this subreddit use it.

At least the early 2000s came with ass and curves.. Now we got this..

  5. How do you explain this clothing style to a non cyclist friend? I feel like they just judge you bc you buy expensive fitness clothing and they just don’t get it ! Just ranting about tbh

  6. Your last sentence says it all. You ask why they don’t listen to feedback about the criticisms people have and it’s because those people complaining don’t matter.

The criticism is a small segment of very loud people on the internet. Meanwhile, PNS is probably one of the most sold high-end cycling brands in the world right now. Why would they listen to feedback that insists they’re doing it all wrong?

Also, Juicy Couture tracksuits are back in style for 2025.

  7. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it? The endless rants about PNS in this subreddit is silly.

Love my short and long sleeve mechanism jerseys. Got a refund on the bibs because the threading started coming undone all over. Really odd. To their credit, it was a full warranty refund from PNS.

I was in college in the early 2000s, and believe me, it was not just moms. Plenty of college girls wore that.
