This is the best gravel bike of the year and we’ve got the award to prove it. And here are seven reasons [Music] why. What is the V+1 race edition and why did it win? It’s fast, it’s agile, and it’s extremely comfortable. So, why is it fast? It’s fast for a number of reasons. mainly because we’ve engineered the frame very very stiff and also the frame’s engineered around one by so maximum performance as soon as you lean on the pedals it’s incredibly quick. Why is it comfortable? Comfortable is a very very important point for any bike particularly on gravel. We started off engineering this frame to carry up to 50 mil tires. So that’s where you’re getting a lot of the comfort. The tire volume is taking the vibration out of all the gravel and the stuff. And then we’ve also engineered the frame, the seat stays and the chain stays to provide some more comfort as well. How is the bike agile? The bike’s agile because again we’ve engineered the geometry especially around the headset, the wheel basease, the chain stay length that the bike turns in very very quickly without being too nervous. So if you’re doing any technical trails, then it moves very very quickly. But likewise, if you’re going down a long fast downhill section, you don’t want the bike diving around all over the place. So getting that balance right is really important. So one of the reasons the bike is so efficient is cuz the frame is engineered exclusively for one bike. But what does that mean? Well, basically what it means, most frames, if you’re carrying uh a double chain ring, two by then, then you’ve got to have some space on the frame for that to accommodate that second chain ring on the inside. By doing away with that, we can maximize the way the down tube goes into the bottom bracket area, still keeping the BB a standard road bike bottom bracket width. So, we’re not messing with the Q factor. And that increases the BB stiffness by about 32% over a two by frame set fact. So, the best gravel bikes need a big tire. What are we running on this? We’re running on our V+1 race edition or any of the V+1’s up to a 50 mil tire with 700C. We saw that coming a long, long time ago. So, we’ve engineered the frame around one by also keeping the chain stays completely parallel. We don’t have to go to a drop chain stay like many other brands do. We can keep the whole thing symmetrical and still carry a 50 mil tire on a 700c wheel. One of the joys of doing these in a public place. It’s all right. Right. It also won the award for how clean and simple it looked. Yeah, there’s a lot of attention to detail that goes into this frame. Firstly, we run the race edition without any cable routting. So the brake hose routting is all inside wireless shifting. So that means no cable ports and keeping a very very simple inch and a half inch and an eigh headset, our own bar stem combo and really really clean. Now this particular bike was originally built for me because it’s got my bar width and my stem length on it. But that’s not uncommon, is it for us? No. Uh we’re consumer direct and we make sure whenever we deliver the bike to any customer anywhere in the world, it fits them like a tailor-made suit. So, we’ll take the customer’s measurements either from their current bike if it fits them perfectly or better still a bike fit and then we’ll measure that up in the studio to make sure that those dimensions and the fit is absolutely A1 perfect down to the bar width, the stem length, the stack height, crank length, all those small details, that’s it. No guesswork, all done. Now, this spec is a bit bling and it was originally built for me for sea otter, but they don’t always end up in this spec, do they? Bling, you good man. No, we can spec the bike for whatever customers wishes from first price point probably with Shramm Rival, mid-pric point with Shramm Force and then high-end with with red and then whatever wheel options and tire options the customer would like. So, we’ve got some standard builds and then on top of that, if the customer wants to swap anything out or choose anything of their own specific choice, we can offer that as well. The V+1 race edition won gravel and adventure bike of the year from Road CC, making it the best gravel bike in the world. In the world. But why is that important to us? Well, it’s given us a chance to channel all of the knowledge we’ve had over the years to into a bike which we truly believed in way way back there. So, that’s really really important. The facts are it’s won the award which is amazing. Um, and from our emotional point of view, it means a ton. It means an awful lot. We’ve been able to deliver the message without of all all of the industry marketing BS that’s around. And I think customers really enjoy that kind of conversation. [Applause]
