Doing shift work, every other week I end up doing late night commutes. After over a year of it, I’m still 50/50 on being in love with them or being worried a crazy person’s gonna jump out the bushes at me.

I come home at around 11pm every night, but it’s NYC so it’s still somewhat busy.

Much prefer that ride to my ride in though.

Between 4 and 5 am , really wide open roads cars blow through red lights on my commute because there’s nobody else within half a mile

I go to a climbing gym late in the evening, 7km each way. At first it was a bit scary but I got used to it. In the dark places I have a 2000lm headtorch that changes night to day. Feels much better.

  5. I used to work 7PM-330AM and the ride home in spring/summer/fall was awesome. The whole road to myself, and whenever there was another car I felt very visible due to my lights.

Used to work graveyard shift, 2200-8. I definitely took different routes each way. Riding through industrial areas at night is a little sketch, and I’d avoid the bike paths entirely.
