  1. First pic I found on Amazon “ShineOn Bike Light”.

Second pic is a Flock Light (from an Australian start-up).

More often than not, when I see other cyclists at night (on a dark path), I’m only seeing their light, throwing everything else into darkness. I’m contemplating using my spare bike light to shine on myself (hopefully not blinding me in the process), and making my reflect elements do their thing.

Just wanted to see if anyone out there does this.

  2. I feel 100x safer with my setup. I have a flagpole mounted to my rear rack and I have white LED strip lights on the side facing my back, and red LED strip lights facing away from me towards cars. Gives me a winning combo of having a very visible red taillight and illuminates my body from behind with white light so you can see my dimensions etc.

Personally would not bother with illuminating myself from the front as I don’t want to stare into a light and feel like I can plan for things in front of me, where I have to just trust that I’m seen from behind and make myself as visible as possible.
