day 64 of biking from Norway to South Africa! cycling from Ghent to Bruges 🙂 #bikepacking #biketour #cyclist #adventuretravel #travel

Welcome back to day 64 of biking from Norway to South Africa. We spent another day in Gent and had a really lovely time hanging out with our friends. We went to a climbing gym and we parttook in some of the Gentfest festivities. It was so fun. The whole city was so lively and there was so much going on. And we stayed most of the following day just to hang out and have a nice relaxing day before starting our ride at like 8:30 p.m. probably our latest start of the trip yet. But it was totally fine because we only had a very short ride to get to Bruge today. It was only about like 25 km or an hour and a half. Um, so we made a pit stop back for the best strawberries ever and got two cartons this time and I rode with them all the way to Bruge. And it was a perfect midnight snack. It’s really nice to have like a short and leisurely ride every once in a while, you know, just like an evening bike ride rather than like a whole big daily mission. And it was definitely a good call because tomorrow we have about 60 mi to go to get to Dunkirk to take our ferry over to the UK, which will bring an end to this like big leg of the trip. Basically, because we’re American, we can only spend 90 days out of any 180 days in the Shenen zone. So, we’re hopping over to the UK and going to ride over there for like 3 months to give us more time to make our way through France and Spain and eventually get to Gibralar. So, we are very excited to be hopping on a fairy soon and to be closing up this little chapter of the trip. And thanks so much for following along so far. We’ve got a lot of ground left to cover. So, I’ll see you tomorrow for day 65.
