I was able to make this bike pack rig from stuff from the dollar store, the front rack is made from a turkey roaster and the nalgene holder is made from a hot dog roaster. The bags are made from tarps and tape.

It works! My only complaint is that it looks like my aunt’s living room with the furniture covered. 😛
One of these days I’ll get around to converting my kitty litter buckets to panniers and posting some photos because oddly, I haven’t seen one of those posts. I love this sort of thing, no-excuse touring that proves you don’t need to spend big money.
Thanks for sharing!
Seriously so sick! The roaster -> rack conversions are so resourceful.
IKEA bags with a carboard keyboard box inside for stiffness make nice completely waterproof bikepacking bags when strapped to the top of your rack. I use that for transporting clothes to / from the office. Just roll over the top and strap it down.
That’s the way my guy, just getting out there and go for it instead of geekin out in the workshop ordering parts for money you should rather be spending on drinks and good times. Love it, ride on!
